Forget About Heating -- Try Warm Your Floor for Hassle-Free Comfort
For most of us, warmth is a natural instinct. For example, on a cold day in any cafe you will see customers instinctively wrap their hands around a mug of hot tea or coffee in order to warm their cold fingers. Unfortunately, most heating systems are anything but intuitive. Most require extensive maintenance and thought and most also constantly remind you of their presence with odors, clanks, whirring, and other odd noises. Warm Your Floor heated floors, though, can allow you to forget about heating and allow you to enjoy comfortable warmth, instead.
In floor heating is as natural as instinctively moving towards a warm spot of sunlight on a cold. That's because in floor heating works on the same radiant warmth principle as the sun. When you pick up a mug of hot coffee and wrap your hands around it, you are inadvertently using radiant heat. The warm cup transfers warmth to your hands, which in turn makes you feel warmer. Similarly, when you bask in the sunlight on a cool day, the rays of the sun warm you up, making you feel warm. Electric blankets work the same way. Underfloor heating works the same way.
Radiant heat tends to work far more effectively and tends to make you feel far more comfortable than traditional heating systems. It's the difference between using an electric blanket and a hair dryer to warm yourself. Think about: when you use a hair dryer, you are blowing hot air around, trying to warm your head. While this can make your head feel uncomfortably warm, the hot air rushes around and does not really adequately warm the rest of you. This is the way most furnaces to work, by blowing hot air around and hoping that some of it warms you up. Unfortunately, hot air has a tendency to rise upward, almost ensuring that the area nearest your ceiling will be the warmest area in your home.
An electric blanket, on the other hand, eats you up adequately because it radiates warmth. It transfers warmth to you gradually, making you feel warm all over. Plus, an electric blanket has a large surface area, ensuring that more of you is warmed up. Heated floors are like an electric blanket for your whole room, since they are installed under your entire floor and radiate upward over the entire surface of your flooring.
