Floor Heating Cables

Floor heating cable systems have no mat that holds the wires in place and maintains ideal spacing; it is your job to build your own mat on the floor using the cable straps or guides and weaving the wire back and forth, clipping it into the tabs on the straps. Most of our PRO and DIY customers buy mats because of their time-saving and easy installation, but we offer cables too—it’s the “old way” and how electric radiant floor heating began. Once the cable is installed, you proceed installing your floor covering the same way as with mats.

Floor heating cables allow for flexible installation. You can vary the spacing on WarmWire cables, bringing them closer than the standard 3.0 inch spacing (same heat output as mats) to 2.5 inches for a 17% boost in heat output. When you space WarmWire closer together, you cover less Square Footage, so be sure to consult the spacing chart in each item’s specification. Ideally use the same spacing over the entire floor. Remember, SunTouch TapeMats also allow you to cut the mesh mat and free the heating wire for flexibility in covering curves and angles too.

Nuheat cable is very similar to WarmWire, though the spacing of the cable is slightly different. The standard cable spacing for Nuheat cables is also 3 inches, but this can be changed to an alternating 3-2-3-2 spacing if more heat is desired. This alternate spacing increases the heat output by 25%.

Floor Heating Cables can be the more economical option for installing floor heat in room. Just remember that while you save money on the materials, you will spend much more time on installation. It all depends on where you want to spend your time and money on your project.

Just as with Mats, choose the Cable size that will cover your open floor area and leave no cold spots, but will fit completely. DO NOT CUT OR SPLICE THE HEATING CABLES. This will cause them to heat improperly and may drastically lower the life expectancy of the system.

WarmWire Spools

WarmWire cables are available in both 120v (for areas 150 sq ft or less) and 240v (for areas more than 150 sq ft). They are exactly the same cable that comes on the SunTouch TapeMats, so at the standard 3 inch spacing they will perform exactly the same as a SunTouch mat of the same square footage. The main advantage to WarmWire is the amount of flexibility it provides on the jobsite since the wire can be run in any configuration as long as the spacing remains consistent. WarmWire can also be spaced at 2.5 inches instead of the standard 3 inches, which will increase the heat output to 14.4 watts, 17% more than the mats. This is recommended for installations over uninsulated slab subfloors.

• Variable spacing of 3.5, 3, and 2.5 inch spacing for 9.6, 12, 14.4 watts respectively

• Flexible Polyurethane WaterProof Jacket

• Thin but durable: Total thickness of about 1/8" (0.10-0.13)

• ETFE Insulation impact and cut resistant

• Metal foil shield for extra protection

• ZERO Electro Magnetic Field (EMF) Emission

• Manufactured in Springfield, MO, USA.

WarmWire Complete Kits

These kits include everything you need to install a WarmWire system. Each Floor Heating Kit contains:

• 1 or more WARMWIRE cables (110 Sq Ft and larger include 2 cables)

• 1 SunStat VIEW programmable thermostat (includes 1 sensor wire)

• Enough WarmWire Strap to install the cables that come with the kit

• 1 Loudmouth Fault Alarm that visually & audibly verifies wires are intact for installation peace of mind

• 1 roll of double-sided tape

• And, only from Warm Your Floor, 1 Digital Multi Meter to check Ohm readings on mats

In Slab Heat Cable

SunTouch® SlabHeat™ Cables are the best solution for true radiant floor heating installed within a new concrete slab pour. SlabHeat is engineered by the world leader in electric floor heating systems with the capability to produce enough BTUs to heat a slab, the room, and the surface people walk on. Regardless of size, shape, or thickness of the flooring being installed, SlabHeat is a great way to provide heat to just about any indoor space.

• Tough polyurethane jacket offers superior flexibility, abrasion and tear resistance, impact resistance, resiliency and better low temperature stability than the PVC used in competing products.

• Efficient radiant heat of up to 15 Watts (51 BTUs) per Sq Ft

• Safety built-in: ZERO EMF dual wire cables and UL Listing for use in wet areas

• Engineered by Watts Radiant SunTouch – decades of experience in electric radiant floor heating

• Reliable, durable design

• One 10 ft power lead on each cable (no return loop necessary)

• Provides comfortable, even heat without the drying effects of forced air heating

• Maintenance-free and silent heating system with no intrusive or unsightly parts visible

• Compatible with all SunTouch thermostats

• Manufactured in Springfield, MO, USA.

Installation Accessories

We offer the largest selection of Thermostat Controls and accessories to help you with your new floor heat project. Thermostats are availablein Programmable and Non-programmable models with several choices. Each thermostat INCLUDES a Floor Sensor wire that allows the thermostat to measure the floor temperature (and we sell spare sensors too)

WarmWire Strap is essential to secure the heating wires to the floor. And Consider the Loudmouth Installation monitor, which provides an audible alarm, in the event the heating cable is cut before you've completed the installation and covered the floor with tile. One customer called the LoudMouth "Peace of Mind". We also offer a low-cost Digital Ohm Meter, if you don't own one. A digital Ohm Meter is required for All electric radiant floor heat installations.

And we now sell Heavy Duty Spray Adhesive. This works very well to stick the WarmWire strap to your concrete subfloor. On backer board or plywood installations, use screws as detailed in the installation manual.

Nuheat Cable Systems

Nuheat cables are available in both 120v (for areas 150 sq ft or less) and 240v (for areas more than 150 sq ft). They are made from exactly the same cable that comes in the Nuheat mats, so at the standard 3 inch spacing they will perform exactly the same as a Nuheat mat of the same square footage. The main advantage to Nuheat cable is the amount of flexibility it provides on the jobsite since the wire can be run in any configuration as long as the spacing remains consistent. The standard spacing for Nuheat cables is 3”, which will produce 12 watts (41 BTUs) of heat per a square foot, the same as a Nuheat mat. The cable can also be spaced at a 3-2-3-2 alternating spacing, which will produce 15 watts (51 BTUs) per a square foot, 25% more than a Nuheat mat.

• Variable spacing of 3-3-3-3 inches or 3-2-3-2 inches, generating 12 and 15 watts respectively

• Flexible Polyurethane WaterProof Jacket

• Thin but durable: Total thickness of about 1/8" (0.10-0.13)

• ETFE Insulation impact and cut resistant

• ZERO Electro Magnetic Field (EMF) Emission

• Manufactured in Vancouver, CA
