Save valuable time with a custom mat.
While custom mats do have a higher up-front materials cost, they offer unparalleled ease over loose wire. Like standard mats, custom mats are simple to install. And since there’s no need to plot or weave heating wire because optimal spacing is built right into the mat design, they will save you or your contractor valuable installation time. Custom mats offer the best of both methods: the precision of loose wire, with the ease of a mat made to fit your space right out of the box. Plus, “custom” doesn’t mean months or even weeks of lead time. Your mat is ready to ship from the manufacturer in as little as 5 to 7 business days.
Custom mats are versatile.
Custom mats can be installed under most flooring types and are manufactured in a wide range of sizes made to fit your space. Mats range in size from 7.5 to 100 square feet for 120v, the most common voltage, and from 15 to 200 square feet for 240v.
What will I need to get a price quote?
For an accurate price quote, you can reference our measurement guide found here.
To provide an estimated cost, a Warm Your Floor representative will need some basic information about your project up front. We’ll ask for just a few details: the measurements around the perimiter of your space, the approximate square footage you’ll want to heat, the location where you’ll want to put the thermostat, and the voltage. We’ve put together some tips below to help you get started.
First, you'll need to measure the distance around the permimiter of the room. Measure carefully and write all measurements down; even the small ones through doorways, etc. Measure around the entire room, through doorways and around any obstructions like floor vents or drains. Do not make any allowances or subtractions from alls or built-ins, we will make those adjustments for you as needed.
Next, you’ll want to get a general idea for the heated square footage. Keep in mind you’ll subtract kitchen islands, shower stalls, bathtubs or cabinets from your measurement.
Once you have the approximate heated square footage, you can determine the voltage. Custom mats come in both 120v and 240v options, and voltage is generally determined by the amount of square footage you’ll need to heat. For 150 square feet or less, use the more common 120v mats. For spaces larger than 150 square feet or to replace baseboard heating that’s 240v, you’ll need 240v mats. If you have questions, a Warm Your Floor representative can help determine the best voltage for your project.
