Snow & Ice Melting

Never shovel snow again! Snow and Ice Melting systems enhance the safety of your outdoor areas. Heated Driveways and walkways provide a snow free path without shoveling or nasty salts or chemicals.

Permanent systems, like ProMelt mats and cables, can be installed within new walkways or driveways provide years of invisible and durable snow melting results, whether it is a new concrete or asphalt heated driveway or a heated walkway of pavers or tile and even heated stairs for safe passage to your front door. These permanent snow melting systems are attached to rebar in new concrete pours, in sand under pavers or in new asphalt layers even on top of existing slabs and then covered by mortar and materials like flagstone, bluestone, etc.

You can even use these snow melting systems to provide comfort on patios to take the chill off cool evenings with up to 170 BTU’s per Sq Ft heat output.

HeatTrak’s portable snow melting mats are another solution for foot traffic areas (not driveways) that are already in place. We offer several size solutions in both a lighter duty Residential series for heated sidewalks and steps plus a heavy duty commercial-industrial series of mats that are used by many homeowners as well as hotels, ski resorts, and all types of businesses.

ProMelt Mats

ProMelt mats are available in 120, 208, 240, and 277 voltages. Unlike with the indoor mats, 240 volt is the most commonly used voltage with ProMelt mats due to the high wattage and AMP draw of the systems. ProMelt mats are available in 38 or 50 watt systems. We recommend 50 watts in almost all circumstances: The more heat, the better when melting snow and ice! Each mat comes with a 20 ft power lead.

• Mats provide the quickest installation method

• Available in either 38 or 50 watts (50 watts recommended)

• Comes in 120, 208, 240, and 277 volts (240 volts is most commonly used for snow and ice melting)

• Manufactured in 2ft and 3ft widths

• Orange Flexible Polyurethane WaterProof Jacket

• 20 ft power lead

• ZERO Electro Magnetic Field (EMF) Emission

• ETFE Insulation impact and cut resistant

HeatTrak Mats

HeatTrak mats are a great solution for melting snow and ice on walkways and stairs when the concrete has already been poured. We can’t stop the snow, but with HeatTrak Mats you can prevent slippery walkways and steps at your home or office. Simply lay HeatTrak Mats on top of the area you want free of snow and plug the mat directly into an outlet or into an extension cord for safer walking surfaces. Foot Traffic Only, these mats cannot be driven on with cars or other large vehicles.

Residential mats direct to you from our large inventory. Industrial and custom mats are built per order and may take 2-3 weeks to deliver. Please call & we will confirm current delivery time for your needs.

Accessories & Controls

Whether you are heating your driveway or your roof, automated control is vital for snow and ice melting systems. Attaching a sensor to your system or control panel will ensure that it activates just before snow and ice start to form, giving you the absolute best results. Trying to operate a system with no sensor by manually turning it on can result in the system taking hours to melt snow build up and catch up to the current rate of snow fall.

SunTouch manufactures a number of accessories that can make installing your ProMelt mats and cables even easier. Don’t forget to install a Marker Plate for Snow Melting as well, it’s required by code!

Nuheat Roof & Gutter De-Icing

Nuheat Weather-Ready™ Heat Trace Cables are perfect for keeping snow off the eves and out of the gutters of your roof. These self-regulating cables create and maintain draining paths on rooftops and in gutters and downspouts for water produced by melting snow and ice. This prevents the formation of ice dams and icicles, which can lead to extensive damage and costly repairs. Available in both plug-in and thermostat controlled options, these cables come in a variety of sizes for both residential and commercial applications.
