Warmup driveway snow melting mats keep driveways & walkways snow-free and ice-protected.

The electric mats roll out quickly under new installations of concrete, asphalt or pavers to prevent the accumulation of ice and snow and are hard-wired to a moisture and temperature sensing control for automated activation. Heating stairs, walkways and driveways is made simple and safe with Warmup.

Mats are the best choice for straight runs, walkways and tire-tracks since the wire is pre-spaced and attached to a mesh in 2 Ft and 3 Ft widths for fastest installation. Secure the mats in place, run the 16 Ft power leads to the junction box(es), and connect to the controller/power. At 50 Watts per Sq Ft, you need 0.20 amps per Sq Ft; each 200 Sq Ft is a load of 40 Amps requiring a 50 A breaker at 240V.

If you have limited power available or a budget restriction, you have options; heat a path down the middle of a walkway or tire tracks on a driveway to economize. We are always available to help design the ideal system for you.

We have solutions for residential & commercial projects of all sizes and types in voltages 240 & 480, plus 208 & 277 V are supported by using 240V mats and de-rating or up-rating. i.e. a 240v mat (50 W/SF) operated at 208V provides 38 W/SF which is enough power in most climates. There are also 3-phase wiring possibilities.

The ideal Warmup electric heated driveway system is designed operate automatically. As it monitors moisture, temperature, and precipitation, the controller will turn the system on to heat the surface just above freezing. We offer simple sensor-controllers for small systems as well as the Warmup Wi-Fi WSM-252W which is activated by the weather forecast to preheat the slab before the snowfall.

Recommended Method and Depth for Asphalt

Cable will withstand direct asphalt contact for limited time until asphalt cools. For pours hotter than 220F, apply a layer of 2” of sand over the cable prior to laying asphalt. Do not use rollers over 2 Ton. Hand-rolling highly recommended.

Recommended Method and Depth for Pavers in sand

Mats/Cables should be covered with 2” of sand for paver application. Pavers to be maximum 4” thick.

Recommended Method and Depth for Slab

Prop up the rebar/mesh with block or chairs so the heating mat or cable ends up 2”-3” (51mm-76mm) from the finished surface and no deeper. Make sure the mesh-side (mats) is facing up, to protect the cable from shovels and rakes.
