DITRA-HEAT twisted pair heating cable is designed to snap into DITRA-HEAT uncoupling membrane.
Manufactured by Schluter-Systems, EMF-cancelling DITRA-HEAT radiant heating cable installs directly into DITRA-HEAT or DITRA-HEAT-DUO cable installation membrane (sold separately) for use under tile or stone flooring.

Cable spacing of 3 studs is standard, but closer spacing of 3-2-3-2 provides more heat or allows you to “use up” extra cable if you have too much. 4 stud spacing is NOT recommended.

Installed a mat type in a previous project and ended up with cool spots. Went with Ditra Heat cable on the next project. Laid it out with rip chord first so I could order the exact length. By doing so I was able to cover each area of the usable floor. This product provides a nice even heat. Schluter is well worth the extra money. Warm Your Floor had the size cable I needed at a competitive price. Shipping was super fast.

This heat cable installed easily and heats the floor well. Once it is in place, it is there forever, so do it right the first time... One knock, the directions require a certified electrician to test the cable with a meter that is very hard to come by in order to validate the warranty. A do-it-yourselfer will not be able to do that. I had a contractor install it and he tested basic resistance and installed it. He was not able to validate the warranty. It works like a charm. A validated warranty would be nice, but once it's in and working, there isn't much to go wrong.
I was a little confused as to what I needed to order, so I called Warm Your Floor and spoke with Omar. He had me email him a diagram of what I was doing, and he customized the heating cable, floor membrane sheets, and thermostat to my job, so I didn't order too much or too little. The installer was really impressed when the heating cable stopped exactly where it was supposed to. I am a fan...Kudos.

This is an excellent product. It is the first heated floor I have installed myself and the Ditra system is very user friendly. No need for backer board. I installed the membrane on top of my plywood. You can run the cable anyplace you want heat. The only concern I had was in the calculation for amount of cable you need. I used the calculator at the Ditra site and it said I needed only 75 Sq Ft. It gives a warning if you try to order more. That's what I ordered first. It turned out I needed 105 Sq Ft. and had to return my first order. The floor isn't quite as warm as I would have expected but certainly warm enough. The thermostat makes it easy to adjust. Overall I am very satisfied and will plan on using Ditra on my next floor project planned for next year.

Good and efficient service from WYF. Excellent product, and installation went without a problem. My suggestion would be for the manufacturer to make specific product recommendations for the mortars with different subfloors.
